KFT(Korean Fortune Teller)는 한국 전통 명리학(命理學) — 사주팔자(四柱八字) — 를 영어권 독자에게 문화적·교육적으로 소개하기 위해 KFT CREW가 만들고 운영하는 서비스입니다. 60갑자(六十甲子)와 24절기(節氣)를 엄밀하게 적용해 연주(年柱)·월주(月柱)·일주(日柱)·시주(時柱)를 계산하며, 서비스의 핵심 키워드는 K-Saju입니다.
KFT (Korean Fortune Teller) is built and operated by KFT CREW to introduce traditional Korean astrology — Saju, or the Four Pillars — to English-speaking readers for cultural and educational purposes. By rigorously applying the 60 Gapja (sexagenary cycle) and the 24 solar terms, KFT calculates the Year, Month, Day, and Hour Pillars. We call this system K-Saju.
K-Saju는 중국의 바쯔(八字, Bazi)와 같은 뿌리를 두고 있지만, 한국 고유의 명리 해석 전통과 현대 한국인의 시각을 중심으로 구성된 독자적인 시스템입니다. 모든 계산은 서버 없이 사용자의 브라우저에서 자체적으로 처리되며, 입력하신 생년월일시는 어디에도 전송되거나 저장되지 않습니다.
K-Saju shares its ancient roots with the Chinese Bazi tradition, but reflects centuries of distinct Korean scholarly interpretation and a modern Korean perspective. Every calculation runs locally in your browser — no server is involved, and the birth details you enter are never transmitted or stored anywhere.
왜 K-Saju인가 — 서양 점성술과의 차이
서양 점성술이 태양의 위치(황도 12궁)를 기준으로 삼는 것과 달리, K-Saju는 절기(節氣)를 기준으로 합니다. 절기는 태양이 황도상 특정 각도에 도달하는 순간이므로, 양력 날짜와는 매년 미세하게 다릅니다.
Unlike Western astrology, which relies on the Sun's position along the zodiac (the twelve houses), K-Saju is based on solar terms (節氣, jeolgi) — the precise moments the Sun crosses specific points along the ecliptic, which shift by a few hours or days from year to year.
특히 월주(月柱)는 음력 월이 아닌 절입 시각(節入時刻)으로 결정되므로, 음력이나 양력 어느 쪽도 직접 사용하지 않습니다. 입춘(立春) 전후로 태어난 사람은 같은 날이라도 연주와 월주가 달라질 수 있어, KFT는 1900~2100년의 절기 시각 데이터를 내장해 이 경계를 분 단위로 판정합니다.
In particular, the Month Pillar is determined by the exact moment a solar term begins — not by the lunar month — so K-Saju uses neither the lunar nor the solar calendar directly. People born just before or after Ipchun (立春, the Beginning of Spring) can end up with a different Year and Month Pillar even on the same calendar date, so KFT embeds solar term data spanning 1900–2100 to resolve this boundary to the minute.
계산 엔진과 정확도
KFT의 사주 계산 엔진은 AI 모델이나 외부 API를 호출하지 않고, 절기 시각 테이블과 60갑자 산출 로직을 자체 JavaScript 코드로 완전히 구현한 결정론적(deterministic) 시스템입니다. 판단이 필요 없는 규칙은 전부 하드코딩된 데이터 테이블로 처리해, 같은 입력에는 항상 같은 결과가 나옵니다.
KFT's calculation engine makes no calls to AI models or external APIs. It is a fully deterministic system, implemented entirely in our own JavaScript — solar term timing tables and 60-Gapja derivation logic included. Every rule that requires no judgment is handled through hardcoded data tables, so the same input always produces the same result.
이 자체 엔진의 정확도를 검증하기 위해, 전통 역법 계산에 널리 쓰이는 오픈소스 라이브러리 sxtwl(2.0.7 버전)을 기준값(ground truth)으로 삼아 다수의 생년월일 케이스를 대조 테스트했습니다. sxtwl은 계산 실행에 직접 관여하지 않으며, 어디까지나 결과를 검증하는 참고 기준으로만 사용됩니다.
To verify the accuracy of our own engine, we cross-checked it against sxtwl (version 2.0.7), a widely used open-source library for traditional East Asian calendar calculations, treating its output as ground truth across a large set of test cases. sxtwl does not participate in the live calculation itself — it is used solely as a reference standard for validation.
절기 경계 근처(±6시간 이내) 생일은 절기 시각 데이터 자체의 미세한 오차 가능성이 있어, 결과 화면에 경고 배너를 표시합니다. KFT는 이러한 한계를 숨기지 않고 명확히 고지합니다.
Because the underlying solar term data carries a small margin of error, birthdays that fall within roughly six hours of a solar term boundary are flagged with a warning banner on the results screen. KFT discloses this limitation openly rather than hiding it.

Myeongni-hak (traditional East Asian astrology) is a philosophical system with thousands of years of history, but it has not been validated as a predictive science by modern standards. KFT states this plainly and encourages you to use your results as a tool for self-reflection rather than as literal predictions.
